Skiing & winter sports information

Every year, thousands of people return from their skiing holidays with an unwanted memento - an injury.

It's hardly surprising - this is a sport that places huge demands on the body, and doing it six or seven days in a row without preparation is a recipe for disaster.

The main prerequisite for skiing is strong legs. At least ten weeks before your skiing trip, start a program of squats, lunges and calf raises at least three times per week.

It's not necessary to use huge amounts of weight, aim instead for endurance, building up your strength and stamina together.
