For most people, winter sports training means a couple of sessions at the gym before the annual skiing holiday - but if you are looking to actually improve performance, then you need to do far more.
The core of most winter sports training is leg work - building up strength through exercises such as squats, lunges and calf raises, and improving endurance with long sessions on the bike, running, or on machines such as stair climbers.
If you also include regular core workouts you will be ready not just to survive the slopes, but positively excel.
