Manganese mineral supplements

One of the trace minerals that is needed by the body is manganese. Manganese is found in very minute amounts in food and water, however, when exposed to it in very large quantities, it will result in damage to the brain, liver, kidneys, or a developing fetus in pregnant women.

The functions that manganese has in the body is aiding with the development of mother's milk, aiding in the formation of thyroid hormones, helping to regulate glucose metabolism, increasing the antioxidant activity found in the body, helping to oxidize dietary fats, synthesizing bones, promoting healthy nerves and immune system, as well as generating energy from the calories we consume in food.

Common foods it is found in include apples, apricots, beans, barley, egg yolks, green leafy vegetables, oats, nuts, raisins, seeds, whole grains, and blueberries.

The signs that you may be deficient in this mineral include atherosclerosis, confusion, convulsions, vision and hearing problems, heart disorders, high blood cholesterol levels, hypertension, irritability, loss of hair color, memory loss, muscle contractions, pancreatic damage, excessive perspiration, a rapid pulse beat, a reduction in the growth of hair and nails, the development of a skin rash, and finally, tremors.

Those who should be particularly concerned with meeting their needs, as it proves to be beneficial for these conditions, are those who have hypoglycemia, minor bodily injuries, damaged tendons or ligaments, and tardive dyskinesia.

Finally, it should be noted that antacids can inhibit the absorption of this mineral, so you should be particularly careful if you are taking these on a regular basis.
